The Steven Slate Trigger Platinum 2.0 is the next generation drum replacement VST/RTAS/AU/AAX plug-in. Trigger has a phase accurate multi layered triggering engine. This means that in one instance of the plugin, you can seamlessly trigger 8 stereo samples simultaneously such as a close mic sample, stereo overhead sample, and a stereo room mic samples. Or, mix many direct mic samples to develop your own custom unique sounds. This multi channel triggering functionality allows the user to recreate the sound of natural drums with real multi-tracked samples. Each sample layer has parameters for customization such as velocity and dynamic control, attack, sustain, release and independent levels. Other features include 2 detection modes, MIDI in/out, automation of detecting parameters, up to 127 different articulations per instrument, up to 127 velocity layers per instrument and up to 127 alternation hits per velocity layer, and a unique "Leakage Suppression" function. Trigger Platinum also contains a transient triggered gate that is the ultimate tool for cleaning up drum tracks with excess leakage.
When using Trigger, you will hear tight, phase accurate drum triggering without unwanted miss-triggers, flamming, or phasing. Kick samples line up tight with the original kick drums, snare drum transients align perfectly, and tom fills come out exactly like the original tracks.
Trigger has the unique functionality to be set in a way that in can automatically be instructed to NOT trigger certain leakages on a drum track using its Leakage Suppression mode. Using the Leakage Suppression technology you can trigger a drum track with 100% accuracy even if this drum track has many loud bleeds from other drums.
Trigger comes with three latency modes, and can work with live triggering using a 4ms LIVE MODE.

I've played around with Trigger Platinum 2.0 on a few songs previously, but I have a red-hot rock band out of southern Georgia that I'm recording, and I just wasn't getting the punch I needed out of the recorded drum tracks. I inserted Trigger on the kick & then the snare, searched & found the best samples that fit, and by Gump, the tracks magically came alive. The ease of use is simply ridiculous. Makes me want to save time & effort by mic'ing a kit with crappy mics and simply replace everything. Yes, the samples are that good, and the translation is excellent with beat detection. Go ahead & buy it. Best deal out there, especially when it's on sale.
