The SSL Stereo Bus Compressor module from the center section of the SL 4000 G Series console has been used on countless hit records over the years since it was first released in the 1980s. Now you can capture the same iconic sound right from your lunchbox with the new SSL Stereo Bus Compressor 500 series module. Based on the same design as the original G S-series models, the new SSL Stereo Bus Compressor 500 series module includes a number of new features and improvements that make it more versatile than ever.
The SSL Stereo Bus Compressor module features the same gooey sound you know and love with a few new updates for added flexibility.
The attack controls now offer six positions for a wider range of options. Choose from 0.1 ms, 0.3 ms, 1 ms, 3 ms, 10 ms, and 30 ms. Similarly, the release settings now include 0.1 sec, 0.2 sec, .4 sec, .8 sec, 1.6 sec and the dynamic AUTO setting.
Users can now select from a wider range of ratio settings to dial in everything from smooth, subtle compression to hyper-aggressive limiting. Choose from the following settings: 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10.
The new SSL Stereo Bus Compressor module also introduces a dedicated high-pass filter, making it ideal for use with bass-heavy instruments like kick drums, bass guitars, synths and more. Choose from 30 Hz, 60 Hz, 105 Hz, 125 Hz and 185 Hz.
While the original SSL bus compressor was designed for mix bus compression, this versatile 500 series module makes it easier than ever to add that same classic punch and power to any tracks. Dial in everything from massive, exciting drum sounds to thick, rich vocal tones and big, fat bass tracks. Of course, the SSL bus compressor still sounds great on the mix bus too!
