Loaded with 48 inputs in a compact 24-fader frame, the AWS 948 is designed for mid-scale commercial recording and production facilities. Equipped with 24 ultra-clean SSL SuperAnalogue mic pres and a stereo/dual mono channel strip that offers up to 48 summing channels, the AWS 948 offers pristine sound quality with maximum flexibility in an easily-manageable form factor. The AWS 948 also features classic SSL dual-curve EQ on every channel, as well as two assignable SSL Dynamics channels, and the iconic Stereo Buss Compressor to help dial in the perfect tone for any track. And with TotalRecall and full 5.1 monitoring capabilities, no session is too big or complex for the AWS 948.

CONTROL YOUR DAW

The AWS 948 lets you control everything in your DAW right from your console via a standard Ethernet cable for streamlined hardware integration. Featuring a dedicated heavy-duty DAW transport section, multi-function V-Pot encoders with position indicating LED’s, digital scribble strips, and a built-in TFT display for advanced plug-in editing in an elegant, ergonomic design, the AWS 948 has everything you need to control your session right from your fingertips.

ALL NEW FEATURES

The AWS 948 features a number of improvements over previous AWS Series consoles, including Stereo Channel Output rear panel connections, which enable stem recordings in a single pass—ideal for users who print tracks back into their DAW. The AWS 948 also features independent insert IN/OUT switching on In-Line channels via a new soft key for streamlined installation and added versatility in the Monitor path. Even the graphics for the small screen signal flow GUI have been enhanced to provide better visual feedback.

D-CTRL

The AWS 948 also comes equipped with Delta-Control, a unique new SSL console automation system that bridges the gap between analog and digital workflows. d-Ctrl is a native AAX/RTAS/VST/VST3 plug-in that allows automation of the AWS 948 as if it were a DAW Plug-in. The automation system in the DAW is used to record and playback control data from the faders and switches on the console as an alternative to using the SSL legacy automation system in the console.
