The Soundelux E49 large-diaphragm condenser microphone is ideal for any studio application from distant orchestral recordings requiring a neutral sound quality, to close up miking. The E49 is based on the classic "tube 49" design that is still admired in studios around the world for its sonic flexibility!

The character of a 49 with lower noise, less distortion
Like the original, the Soundelux E49 is a Remote Variable Pattern Tube Mic that uses Soundelux's KK47 large diaphragm capsule and a unique head grille designed to replicate the original's acoustic and mechanical sonic signatures. The E49 uses a specially designed Soundelux SteadyState fixed-bias type tube amplifier that is similar to the original but has lower noise and distortion. The output transformer provides a correct impedance match between the E49 and any mic preamp input and, compared to transformerless designs, has lower intermodulation distortion and improved frequency linearity in the low and middle frequencies.

Incredibly versatile with continuously variable polar pattern
Soundelux designed the E49 with a universal outboard power supply and a continuous variable polar pattern control that adjusts from figure-eight to cardioid and then to full omnidirectional. The E49 comes in a wooden storage box complete with a stand adapter. An optional shock mount mic holder for the E49 will be available soon.

Internally shock-mounted to eliminate mechanical vibration
The E49 has a double internal shock mounting system that includes a capsule-to-electronics shock assembly and a separate capsule and electronics package shock mount. This double system all but eliminates intrusive mechanical vibration and noise from affecting the E49's sound.
