The Sony C-100 Hi-Res Condenser Microphone is a two-way condenser microphone, compatible with Sony High-Resolution Audio, featuring an extended frequency response from 20 Hz up to 50 kHz. Sony has designed the C-100 with Hi-Resolution Audio in mind, using advanced technology and housing developed from the C-800G to allow for incredibly wide frequency range and low self noise. The C-100 is suitable for critical vocal and instrument recording in recording studios, as well as live and broadcast situations.
Incorporating newly developed double microphone capsules and noise elimination structure, originally employed in the C-800G microphone, the C-100 delivers a broad frequency range of 20 Hz to 50 kHz and excellent reproduction of vocal and musical qualities. The condenser element of the C-100 microphone provides a selectable pick-up pattern (Omni/Uni/Bi) for various recording applications.

A great mic
Very Polyvalent and just perfect in this lockdown restriction.
I have done all my definitive recordings home for my last LP.
It works very well for voices, percussions, guitars.
The must is with SFP-30 usefularts....
Solid all around mic for a high quality, professional studio-like sound. Run this through the VK 500-Series and it turned into diamonds. Highly recommend.
Love it. Use it for rap, melodic rapping, great sound quality! Running it with the Apollo Quad MkII to my Macbook Pro. 0 complaints!
I prefer this mic to u87 in so many circumstances. Thank you sony for introducing a remarkable, super defined and affordable mic. I love it, my clients love it. Sounds great compared to all the classics. Sometimes I’ll even use this over a c-800 in sessions. Travel is super easy with this as there is no need for a power supply. The 8” pelican type case fits in my backpack easily.. love this mic.
I have many type of microphones from Telefunken to Neumann and Sony but this little mic worth to be beside the kings of the mic’s ...
love this mic. can not recommend it high enough for pop vocals. super clear and crispy
Amazing ok vocals! Wow! Compare this to your favorite mic on audio test kitchen to see how it sounds. No bias just lovely.
I really wanted to hate this microphone because it isn’t a C800, but for rap vocals this does better than anything I’ve tried for less than $3500.
Can sound slightly atonal with certain singers if too compressed when tracking.
Constantly getting “hey, what mic is this!?” with vocalists I’m working with for the first time.
Sounds great tracking with light compression and a deesser, doesn’t do well through a super baked series of compressors on the way in.
Can sound slightly atonal with certain singers if too compressed when tracking.
Surprisingly incredible as a drum room mic through as much tube gear as you can get in the chain.
Me and C100 have made friends.
Amazing mic!! I compared it to everything in the Vintage King LA mic room, about 50 high end mics, and it has that cut through the mix sound of the $10,000 C-800G. Love it!
I’ve tried this mic on pretty much anything, from vocals to strings, horns, percussion. It just works on everything, great versatile performance for the price.
