Merging Technologies VAD (Virtual Audio Device) is a RAVENNA/AES67 driver for macOS. It allows any DAW such as Reaper, Logic, Pro Tools, etc. to connect to a RAVENNA/AES67 network (via a network adapter), to record or playback audio just like you would through a simple USB connection to the computer. The VAD PREMIUM license unlocks the full 128 I/O at ultra-high sampling rates.
VAD PREMIUM is perfect for connecting a Dolby Atmos renderer 128 channels of beds, objects and LTC, speaker outputs and rerenders to a 48 kHz Dante network configured in AES67 mode, and is officially certified by Dolby.
VAD main settings can be configured through a simple GUI in macOS system preferences. The required number of I/O, latency and sampling rate can be specified to optimize CPU activity. Connections can then be made using a web GUI, to and from senders and receivers.
