CEDAR Audio invented the modern Adaptive Limiter. The CEDAR Audio APEX is built on CEDAR's pioneering Emmy winning technology and gives engineers precise control over their audio, enabling them to increase the apparent loudness whilst preserving transparency, soundstage and depth. Conventional limiters control the loudness of signals by suppressing peak amplitudes when they would otherwise exceed user-defined thresholds. Unlike these, CEDAR's Adaptive Limiters use a unique adaptive algorithm that calculates continually varying EQ profiles for each audio channel. These constrain the amplitude of the output while retaining the integrity of the input signal.
