Step away from the American pianos Boz have been sampling and immerse yourself in the rich European tradition with the Vienna 170. Despite its compact size of just 5'7", this piano delivers an astonishingly powerful sound. Its clean low end and robust midrange defy expectations, showcasing the unique character that different pianos can offer. Whether you’re composing a classical masterpiece or adding depth to a modern track, the Boz Digital Vienna 170 offers unparalleled versatility and quality. Don’t miss the chance to bring this iconic sound into your studio. Try it today and hear the difference.
The Vienna 170 is a tribute to the piano that defined European design in the 19th century. It unapologetically exudes this heritage with a strong attack and clear, piercing sustain, making it the centerpiece of any mix. You’ll immediately notice the expansive soundstage and the clarity of each note, even in the most complex passages. Boz have meticulously selected microphone positions to capture every detail, providing you with a variety of choices for different songs and genres.
Sampled from a Bösendorfer 170VC, this piano was acquired from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in 2007 and meticulously restored to pristine condition by master technicians at European Piano Restoration. While the serial number 7,345 suggests it was originally built in 1874, the VC170 model wasn’t created until 1908, adding an element of mystery to its history. Regardless, the craftsmanship and sound quality are undeniable.
