Custom-built guitars that play great, sound great and look cool!

Product Description

Stripped down, lean and mean, and with attitude to spare, that’s how we describe the Rock ‘n’ Roll Relics Thunders Model.  In the late 50’s the original LP Juniors and Specials were designed to be affordable and unadorned versions of fully-loaded, sharp-dressed Pauls.  With its butcher-block body, plain dot fingerboard, wrap-around bridge and a simple P90 single-coil pickup, the Junior was considered an entry-level instrument. As it turned out, these no-frills axes had some serious mojo. From chiming clean to serious scream, and everything in-between, there’s nothing to get in the way of their organic and fiery tone.  Many players agree a Junior is more dynamically responsive and touch-sensitive than it’s humbucker-fitted daddy. That’s why an LP Jr or Special that in 1985 would have been a $250 music-store afterthought, now fetches some seriously big bucks. They have achieved true sought-after vintage status, and for good reason.  Iconic artists from John Lennon to Leslie West to Bob Marley to Billy Joe Armstrong have made rock history with their Juniors.  Rock ‘n’ Roll relics has perfectly captured the special DNA of this legendary breed. Named for LP Jr player and trailblazing rocker Johnny Thunders of the NY Dolls, who inspired both rock and punk with his raw sound, the Thunders will deliver the chunky lows, talking mids, and chirping bite the guitar is famous for.  Aged to look like it has been in-action since 1959 with a faded TV Yellow finish, and fitted with a hot-n-lively D Allen “Stray Cat” P90, your  ‘Relic is sure to rock your stage and studio world. Like Johnny Thunders himself, this rocker is one of a kind.
