The ATC SCS70iW Pro is a 12"/300mm active subwoofer, designed to be mounted flush in-wall (soffit mount). It is the ideal partner to in-wall mounted mid-size ATC monitors in stereo, multichannel, and immersive audio applications. Its neodymium driver magnet and short, hand-wound voice coil provide high SPL performance with extremely low distortion, while the 1-channel 7U/19” rack-mount, MOSFET-based Class AB, convection cooled amplifier provides ample headroom. Four low-pass filter settings, a continuously variable phase control, flexible I/O, and an optional footswitch make the ATC SCS70iW Pro an extremely versatile active subwoofer for professional studios and immersive audio applications.
The SCS70iW Pro is specifically voiced to extend the response of ATC’s install monitors, delivering rock-solid low-end that locks in with the brand's signature midrange clarity. Its high-performance sealed cabinet design ensures seamless tonal balance with no unwanted cabinet coloration.
At the heart of the SCS70iW Pro is a custom-designed SS75-314SC driver with a hand-built voice coil. Mounted in an unusually long magnetic gap, this short-coil design reduces distortion and maximizes power handling. Precision magnet venting minimizes air-flow noise and heat, ensuring reliability during extended sessions. Combined with the sealed cabinet design, this custom driver boasts an extended low-frequency response from 2 Hz to 320 Hz, and a max SPL up to 116 dB.
The ATC Loudspeakers SCS70iW Pro features comprehensive I/O including two balanced inputs for mono or stereo sources, and two buffered outputs for passing signal to your monitors in series, or daisy-chaining additional subs in multi-channel surround setups. Differential inputs offer 20 kΩ impedance with 90 dB common mode rejection at 200 Hz, ensuring clean signal transfer even in electrically noisy environments. This flexible I/O suite easily adapts to any studio configuration.
Tuning the SCS70iW Pro to your system is easy and precise, thanks to its versatile tone controls. Choose from low-pass filter settings at 50 Hz, 65 Hz, 80 Hz, or Off (320 Hz) using a 4th-order Linkwitz-Riley slope for the ideal crossover curve to match your ATC loudspeakers. A continuously variable phase control and dedicated polarity switch make it possible to phase-calibrate the sub for seamless integration with your monitors and the room. The 21 dB total gain range ensures optimal output power for solid bass extension in any studio.
A latching footswitch connected to the ¼-inch jack allows you to instantly mute the subwoofer when making A-B comparisons during mix sessions. The mute function only affects the sub output, leaving the full-range monitor outputs untouched. A Mute Thru jack allows one footswitch to control multiple SCS70iW Pro subwoofers simultaneously, simplifying multi-sub setups in surround or immersive studios.
