H2 Audio Helios Channel

The H2 Audio Helios Channel is the ultimate channel strip, consisting of H2's flagship 0011 mic preamp/EQ paired with an H760 compressor/limiter. This versatile production tool features the Lustraphone input transformer, the Acme Audio Motown DI transformer and circuit that is switch-coupled directly to the 0011's mic input, and a Stereo/Channel switch that allows The Helios Channel to be operated either as a channel strip or as an independent mic/pre EQ and compressor/limiter.

HELIOS 2128 PREAMP

The 0011 stereo mic preamp features two channels replicating the legendary Helios 2128 preamp circuits. The 0011 Stereo boasts a gain range of 25 - 75 dB in 5 dB increments, with Lustraphone input transformers providing 20 dB gain before the preamps. Onboard features include -20 dB pads, +48V phantom power, EQ Cut switches, and Phase switches. The 0011 Stereo has an added output amplifier with output transformer, all of original Helios design, allowing the H2 Audio 0011 to drive a 600 ohm load up to 25 dB before clipping (owners of classic Helios modules will agree that this was a major issue when trying to use a classic Helios in a custom rack).

INDUCTOR-BASED EQUALIZER

The inductor based LF/MF EQ section features selectable LF and MF and fixed 10 kHz HF controls. It also features Phase control, EQ bypass and selectable High Pass filter with original 40 Hz and 80 Hz filter points. The Bass Hz rotary switch features selectable 60, 100, 200, or 300 Hz boosts variable or 50 Hz filters with selectable 3, 6, 9, 12, or 15 cuts. Mid kHz rotary switch includes 0.7, 1, 1.4, 2, 2.8, 3.5, 4.5, or 6 kHz boost or cut. 10 kHz rotary switch generates bell-shaped boosts or cuts at 10 kHz by -2, -4, -6, -8, -10, +2, +4, +6, +8, or +10 dB. The PK/TR switch designates the midrange EQs as either peaks or troughs.

H760 FET COMP/LIMITER

Undoubtedly one of the best-kept secrets in recording, the F760 designed by AD&R and licensed by Helios is one of the most classic FET comp/limiters ever made. Sold as modules fitted into classic Helios desks and most famously heard on Led Zeppelin's 'When The Levee Breaks' drum recording. A very easy-to-use unit with fixed threshold and 5 pre-selected ratios, selectable attack and release times and separate Limiter threshold. The H760 will allow the user quick adjustment of dynamic control of any audio program and maintain the classic sound of a British FET compressor/limiter.
