Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphones are ideal for capturing extreme detail in a recording. Since the diaphragm is smaller, it responds quicker to SPL, making it a more accurate and detailed recording when miking acoustic guitars, miking a piano, or miking an orchestral instrument like a violin or cello.

Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphones such as the Neumann KM84, Neumann KM184, Neumann KM56, AKG C 451, Josephson E22S, and Sennheiser 416 are commonly found in every pro recording studio.

Small Diaphragm Condensers commonly come in a cardioid polar pattern. Looking for more versatility? Add the Neumann Gefell M582 M71 Tube Mic to your locker, allowing you to change out the capsules and turn the microphone into an omnidirectional microphone. Perfect fit for stereo miking a piano, stereo room microphones, recording voice ensembles, and recording string sections.

Add a stereo bar such as the Neumann DS 120, Schoeps Microphones UMS 20, or K&M 236 to your arsenal to easily position your small diaphragm microphones on one microphone stand. Great way to set-up a spaced pair, or XY miking techniques when recording drums, acoustic guitars, or wide room tones.

Keep your Small Diaphragm Microphone safe by adding a quality shock mount such as the Sabra-Som SSM1, which can hold just about any style small diaphragm microphone. A shock-mount is also a great way to eliminate low frequencies in the recording process.
