Knif Audio Eksa is a versatile audio equalizer intended for audio mastering and mixing applications. Being an active equalizer, Eksa within the Knif product range, is the quintessential counterpart to Soma. While inspired by legendary Sontec designs, Eksa is actually substantially more sophisticated and complex. Eksa, unlike the classic designs of the past, allows noise and wideband gain to be virtually independent of Q setting.
Eksa is equipped with MS encoding and decoding and the circuit consists of no less than 28 Class A discrete operational amplifiers crafted in-house. The circuit employs DC servos for MS, each core amplifier is meticulously calibrated to minimize their impact on the audio range. The servos boast time constants of well over one minute for absolute absence of any sonic impact. The band gain range is adjusted in 23 steps and the range can be extended from the default ±4.5 dB to ±9 dB using the x2-mode.
All signal switching on the PCB is executed hermetically by subminiature relays with gold plated contacts (100 pieces per channel) and all capacitors in the filter circuits are polypropylene.
The best gear advice always comes from those who use it the most. That's where you come in! Let the pro audio world hear your voice with a review of the Knif Audio Eksa Mastering EQ . Once you submit your review, please check your email and verify your address to have it posted.
