Acoustic Treatment Panels

We can't find products matching the selection.

It is a common mistake for recording studios to leave their rooms untreated. Acoustic treatment is a key component to making sure your mixes translate to other listening environments. Standing waves, bass build up, and flutter echo might not be immediately noticeable, but can cause you to hear (or not hear) parts of the mix in a certain way in your mixing room, and possibly sound completely different when listening in the car, or other sets of speakers.

Not only for the mixing room, it is very important to add acoustic treatment to your live tracking rooms. This will help achieve a tight sound when recording vocals, keep early reflections in phase on a drum kit, and help maintain the depth of an acoustic instrument such as a guitar, upright bass, or violin. Without acoustic treatment, you will more than likely be getting the “bathroom” tone, which is full of ringing and reflections, often times leading to a thin and phasey sounding performance.

Don’t forget gobos and acoustic baffles. If you are recording a full band in a single room, you want to make sure you are isolated as possible. Baffles are a great way to add separation to individual instruments, but still keep a line of sight for the players to communicate. For example, you can keep the bleed of the electric guitar amp out of the drum close mics and overheads, help isolate the upright bass from the drums, or help make sure the band isn’t bleeding too much into the lead vocal mic.

Acoustic treatment on you monitor stands also helps with added vibrations from your speakers. An untreated speaker stand can give off a resonant frequency, that might cause you to carve out more than you would in certain sources.
