When building out your studio, you want to make sure you add a variety of acoustic absorption. It’s very hard to achieve pro recording studio results without absorption, and without treatment in your room, recording can result in a lot of ringing giving it the “bathroom” sound, or result in a build up in low end that will make the recordings very muddy sounding.

Acoustic panels can reduce the ambience of your room, without making it sound completely dead. With the use of panels, you can focus on areas that are the main source of reflection, and still keep the natural ambience of your room. Ceiling absorption is also crucial, and whether you have a small space, all the way to a commercial sound stage, Vintage King carries all shapes and size that will work best for your studio.

Foam is the most commonly used material for absorption. It has a classic studio look, and is engineered to have a great balance of absorption and reflection. Being lightweight makes it easy to install on almost any surface. Fiberglass options are also available, although the don’t typically absorb sound as much as foam, they are far more durable, and often times have much more detail in the design. Wool and felt are very efficient, and often times what you would install inside of a wall, or to use as a portable gobo. The addition of Gobos can help isolate multiple musicians in the same room, or help trap early reflection in a drum set or acoustic instrument, making it a much richer sound while recording.

If you have any 90 degree corners in your room, make sure to look into bass traps. This will help absorb the low frequencies that bounce around the room, resulting in a much tighter mixing or recording environment.

If you are recording on location outside of your recording studio, you can look into our portable sound both options, or acoustic absorbers that mount directly onto a microphone stand. Adding one of these to the recording rig can give you a professional vocal booth sound, in nearly any space.

Vintage King also carries predesigned kits that can fit nearly any control room. It can be a little tricky finding the perfect absorption for your room, so be sure to contact your Vintage King sales rep if you have any questions, they will be happy to help you fine tune your room.

I would like to thank VK for the wonderful sales assistance, service and prices. This was my first purchase with you and it won't be my last. I only wish I'd discovered you years ago!

In almost 20 years in Pro audio buying, never did I receive a unit so well packed and exactly as described. Works flawlessly. The whole process has been so smooth. I will never hesitate to do business with you guys in the future and will recommend you to everyone I know.

This was my first experience buying something from Vintage King (although I surf the "used" categories on the website frequently!), and, despite being on the other side of the world, I had absolutely no trouble and everything went very smoothly.

From the minute I placed my order I was kept well-informed through each step in your process. Even though I was buying a comparatively modest piece of gear, your attention to detail made me feel like I was purchasing a six-figure mixing desk.
