I've owned the Rascal Two-V for a few years and have used in in a number of ways primarily for DAW recording as a vocal or microphone, electric guitar and bass pre amp. The sound is incredible, clear and warm and makes mix-down easy on the back end. Especially when using software-based amp modeling and effects, the Two-V gives the electric guitar tone that round boost that only a gain can provide. It also beefs up the bass as a direct input and I taper it off for cleaner vocal sounds or instrument sounds when needed. There is a lot to the relationship of having both level and gain control on a pre providing unique flexibility across applications. Built like a tank and I do like the color and stripped down look of it in my lunchbox. If you buy it, enjoy it!
Wow i'm really impressed and that's not just gear fever talking. It's amazing. Exactly what i wanted. Smashes the typical Neve clones and even seems to be a real contender against the 1073 (even though it's not trying to be one. I'm not saying its better than an actual 1073, but for a stereo pair, its a no brainer. It's RICH RICH and focused and beautiful. So very happy!
