Quested SM748 4-In/8-Out DSP Management System

The Quested SM748 is a 4-in, 8-out digital crossover. With high-performance 24 bit digital converters and digital signal processing, the unit is able to capture and output program material with a high degree of accuracy. The converters run at 96 kHz, a rate that yields a bandwidth of over 30kHz and a dynamic range in excess of 116 dB.

Standard AES/EBU interfaces are built-in, allowing the unit to work with both digital inputs and digital output streams. Sample rate converters are included on the inputs, allowing the SM748 to accept digital audio with sample rates anywhere from 32 kHz up to 192 kHz. Output sample rate is fixed at 96 kHz.

The SM748 has up to nine parametric sections on each band. Parametric sections can be reconfigured to provide alternate filter shapes, including an array of filters inclusive of phase adjustment in two-degree steps. Each output also features a combination of limiters, one that protect against driver over-excursion, and a second look-ahead limiter for additional safety.
