Already in use by some the world's leading film and music studios worldwide, Quested's S Series has undergone an evolutionary make-over. Featuring the Quested S7R MKIII with a new cabinet finish, electronics redesign and driver upgrades across the 3-model range. With a redesigned input section of the amplifiers used in the S Series, it's improved the performance in the number of places where RF and other leakage are increasingly compromising the performance of Professional audio equipment. The new finish is purely cosmetic, but does suit studio environments as they become increasingly hi-tech.
The S7R also benefits from upgrades to their Low-Frequency drive units. The S7R LF driver is a little stiffer. This further improves the mid-range performance in conjunction with the Class A/B modules we have always used for their neutral sound quality and dynamics. Two class A-B amplifiers capable of delivering a total of 190 Watts RMS are mated to an enclosure tuned with a double flared port designed to minimize any possible low frequency “chuffing”. The result is an extremely powerful, neutral, articulate and accurate compact monitor perfect for a wide range of music styles from acoustic jazz to house. The frequency response is more than adequate for most applications, it can however be extended down to 25Hz when coupled to the SB10R sub-woofer. The S7R is fully magnetically shielded, so can be used in close proximity to CRT monitors.
All S-Series monitors are phase coherent with each other enabling them to be used in combination in 5.1 multi-channel systems. Some typical applications include components in multi-channel systems, postproduction, project studios, location recording, and mastering.
