Powering the\r\nloudspeakers from a Meyer Sound IntelligentDC external power supply\r\neliminates the need for wiring conduits while still preserving the advantages\r\nof self-powered systems.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe Meyer Sound IntelligentDC power supplies distribute DC power\r\nand balanced audio to UP-4slim loudspeakers or other Meyer Sound\r\nIntelligentDC loudspeakers. The UP-4slim’s amplifier and signal processing circuits store DC power and tolerate voltage drops, thereby\r\naccommodating light-gauge cables and lengthy cable runs. Composite\r\nmulticonductor cables, such as Belden® 1502 or equivalent, can deliver\r\nboth DC power and balanced audio to loudspeakers at cable lengths up to\r\n150 feet with just 1 dB of loss in peak SPL using 18 AWG wire for power.\r\nLonger cable lengths are possible with heavier gauge wires.
