The Phoenix Audio Scion comes from the Nicerizer family of products adding to Phoenix Audio's legendary line summing mixers which have been the heartbeat of many studios for over 20 years. Scion offers the sound and tone of a classic large format analog console but in a small rack-mount size.
The Scion features three distinct output options - Clean, Color, and Mix. The Clean setting provides a transformerless signal path with pristine highs and lows. The Color output employs Phoenix's classic transformer-coupled signal path for a punchier, vintage-inspired sound. Finally you can use the Mix mode to blend both the Clean and Color circuits. All three can be used simultaneously for recording three separate mixes.
Scion employs nothing but the best in Class A discrete analog circuitry design with 16 Class buffer amps, hardware analog panning, classic Phoenix transformers and Class A discrete output amplifiers. Every channel also features Phoenix Audio's new drive technology switching so they can push each individual channel's circuitry harder for more analog color and tone with attenuated output controls for easy recall and greater accuracy.
The Scion also has a master insert send and return so you can insert your favorite outboard compressor or EQ and linking function so two units can be merged into a true 32 channel unit which should satisfy every mixing application. Finally, there is a stereo width effect tool which can create some really cool widening effects with up to 25% more width or the ability to create a mono effect.
