Peluso Microphone Lab 67/87 Pop Filter

This was my first time ordering from Vintage King. They are a pleasure to deal with. They were out of stock on the pop filter for the Peluso P-87, but arranged to have Peluso ship it to me directly to get it in my hands at the same time as the mic arrived. That worked ;-)

The microphone is outstanding. While I can’t do an A-B comparison between the Peluso P-87 and a Neumann U87, I can say that the P-87 is clearly outstanding. I wanted a mic with little coloration (I can add it during mixing if needed) and that was brutally honest in its rendition of a male vocalist and a fingerstyle acoustic guitar picker. It excels at both. Several friends with extensive recording experience and top-notch studios and microphone closets sat up and took notice when the recorded acoustic guitar came sparkling out of the monitors.

The P-87 sounds great just as is, but IMHO opens up a tad bit more with just a gentle EQ dip in the low mid-range. Your mileage may vary.

Works and looks great!

The windscreen is made well, however, not as effective as a foam screen. The 87 series mics are extremely sensitive to popping. Also, if you are using a Stam 87, you will have to use a longer screw to attach to the mic as the STAM mic is bigger around the body.
