The Pearl Microphone Labs TL4 is a stereo FET condenser studio microphone that features the classic Pearl capsule with rectangular dual membranes mounted back-to-back in compact black chrome bodies. The TL4 is the high-output version of Pearl's TL44.
The beauty of the TL4 is its versatility which allows it to handle a variety of the tasks in the studio. By using the rectangular capsule, the TL4 achieves a very flat and resonance free frequency response which extends far into the lower frequencies. This makes it an accurate yet flattering microphone for vocals and acoustic instruments, not to mention the challenges of symphonic organ recordings. The sound is further enhanced by use of a transformerless preamplifier circuit which is extremely quiet. The circuit requires 48V phantom power which, when supplied, illuminates an LED.
