The Overstayer Saturator NT-02A is the ultimate studio harmonics and distortion processor. Overstayer brings a fresh approach to mix coloring, opening up a new world of sonic possibilities. Great for coloring just about anything, like drums, loops, synths, bass, vocals or even an entire mix. The Saturator’s comprehensive controls can dial in anything from subtle tape compression effects to extreme distortion, making it an indispensible tool in the digital world.
The Overstayer Saturator features a 100% analog signal path with tone shaping filters and multiple amplifiers for a wide of array of character, from subtle thickening to extreme distortion, balanced to taste with an integrated blend control.
A must have for drum tracking. Stays on my kick/snare but also works great on OTK, FOK, or rooms. The tunable low-cut filters and resonance take it to the next level. Plenty of gain stages that let you dial in a wide range of saturation/distortion options. Can be subtle if needed or outright violent when called for.
When it comes to drum bus treatment/processing/coloring, I find this Overstayer NT-02A Saturator to be at least as crucial for a crushing drum tone as a specialty bus compressor geared for such a task. I will also say that my estimation of just how valuable this saturator would be to my now current drum processing chain was grossly underestimated. I consider this Overstayer product to be AT LEAST as crucial to my drum sound as my bus compressor (API 2500)...possibly even more so. Magical!
This thing rules. From subtle warmth and density on a group or parallel chain to full on destruction on individual sources, the NT02A is an amazing piece and has become indispensable to me.
The Overstayer Saturator is a "must have" in my opinion. I wish I'd heard about this unit, and company, years ago in fact. Perfect for light saturation on a mix bus or if you want heavy handed drum crunch or distortion on individual channel or instrument groups then you can go overboard with this thing and dial it back till the right parts of the track are peaking the way you want it. forget using 3 or 4 plug in's and distorting your board pre's....with this thing you really have a ton of control immediately at your finger tips! The Res filter is great too for certain things! Since I got this, I basically use it on every song I'm working on whether it be lightly on a vocal track, or bass track, or heavily on a drum track. Even though I record a lot to tape and may use a Fatso for tape sat warmth type stuff, the Overstayer Saturator is really a very handy tool that is totally legit in the way it sounds and operates, especially considering the price point. Now I'm looking at the Modular Channel they make, which is even more of a specific type of unit. Overstayer makes special products for sure! To end this statement...I don't see how anyone would regret purchasing this unit. I've become a fan of their gear quickly and so far have only used the Saturator NT-02A in person. Also, smaller companies like this have something special to them, period. Check out their website and look around at what they have to offer. In the mean time, check my website or Instagram for songs that I'm currently using this on and I'll post about it once tracks are released to the public!!! I love supporting smaller companies that make cool stuff. I should be posting about this unit in December 2018 and early 2019 as I've been working with it a lot lately since I just got it recently! Cheers everyone!!
