OLLO Audio S5X 1.1 Open-Back Dynamic Spatial Mixing Headphones (Demo Deal)

The OLLO Audio S5X 1.1 are studio reference-class, open-back, dynamic headphones with flat frequency response tuned for immersive audio mixing. The S5X 1.1 are tuned to translate binaural rendering of immersive formats between headphones and speakers setup. Their target frequency response was developed at OLLO Audio R&D Labs by capturing a certified Dolby Atmos studio acoustics and transferring them into the immersive target frequency response for headphones.

Unit Specific Calibration file and plug-in are included with your purchase. With USC they are calibrated to ~1 dB tolerance to the respective target curve (spatial or stereo). The plug-in runs on PC and Mac with AU or VST3 supported DAW (Cubase, Reaper, Studio One, Ableton, Nuendo, Mixbus, etc.). You can also integrate USC directly with room emulations by Waves Audio and head tracking or run it in a daisy-chain. Available studios include Abbey Road, Ocean Way, Germano-Hit Factory and CLA Mix LA.

HEAR THE MIX CENTER BETTER

Superior phantom center is achieved by matching speakers using frequency domain analysis, which is more complete than just SPL analysis. To deliver an immersive experience, it is crucial to have accurate speaker matching when using room emulation plugins in binaural mode.

UNCOLORED CANVAS

The speaker is designed with an ex-centric and angled placement within a conical radiation chassis. This design ensures an optimal sound stage as the base for the binaural renderer to do its magic.

EASY HANDLING

The cable is designed with an OFC core that delivers the original signal without harmonic or other audible distortion. The silicone finish makes it less microphonic than braided cables and easier to handle.

REPLACEABLE EARPADS

The earpads are directly responsible for the acoustic coupling impedance between the headphones and your ears and hence greatly affect the frequency response. With professional daily use, they get deformed and replacement is required for continued high performance.

SERVICEABLE HEADBAND

The headband is made of stainless steel and is designed to withstand heavy usage. If necessary it can be replaced using home tools, even when touring.

INSTRUMENT SEPARATION

With the acoustic mesh by SATTI, air-flow resistance between the front and back of the speaker is carefully controlled to achieve smooth bass response and separation with low mids. The SoundSeal technology does that by keeping resonances and reflections under control.

FEATURES:

• Hand-picked and left/right matched transducers deliver accuracy and instrument separation (±1 dB SPL tolerance, pink noise, range 100 Hz - 10 kHz in the free field)
• Replaceable earpads with outer diameter of 95 mm (3.75"), an inner diameter of 57.5 mm (2.25") and depth of 20 mm (0.8")
• Perforated hybrid artificial leather and velour earpads to control flow resistance around the earpads seal resulting in smoother response through all frequency bands and improved heat dispersion
• Front-to-back air pressure equalization controlled with Saati flow resistor
• The ex-centric and angled speaker in a conical radiation chassis with an optimal sound stage for the spatialization of objects in the binaural renderer
