One of the classic Neve consoles of the early 70s is the 8014. Designed for smaller sized studios, it came standard with 16 inputs, 4 Program, 2 Cue, and 2 Reverb buses, and 8 track monitoring; numerous customizable meter and routing configurations were also possible. Made in the classic Neve modular style, the console was flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of recording studios of the era, working in 4, 8 or 16 track setups, or mixing down in the popular Quadrophonic format of the day.
The 8014 is set to take any modules of the 1073 variety. Routing was via the standard 1883 module and reverb return used the 1889. Slots were available for up to four 2254 style compressors, and the ever popular 1272 line amps rounded out the package.
This high quality, Class A, customizable desk found its way into many small studios in the 1970s, as savvy engineers went for the 'Neve sound' in a small form factor. Vintage King has sold numerous 8014's over the years, and it remains one of our most popular vintage consoles.
Most vintage Neve 1073 size eq/pre variants, and newer AMS Neve, Wunder and BAE 1073 type eq/pre will fit the empty channel slots.
