Neve 1073 - Conversion from Vintage 2074 Module (Vintage)

Excellent condition unit, converted from a vintage Neve 2074 module, (photo is of a stock unit).

The process of converting a vintage Neve 2074 module to function as a 1073 is relatively straightforward, employing a minimum of changes to the components. The 183/283 output card is populated, and all necessary wiring is removed and/or added, along with resistors and capacitors. The line trim pot is removed, and replaced with a standard Elma 1073 rotary attenuator. And most importantly, a mic transformer is installed; this is a new Carnhill VTB9045, as used by the likes of BAE, Avedis, and Vintech in their versions of the 1073. After the conversion is complete, the 2074 is, for all intents and purposes, a 1073 mic pre/EQ.

Just like the original 1073, this conversion gives you a discrete 3 band EQ/Pre, with hi pass filter. Classic Neve low end, fat and pillowy, with the perfect midrange EQ points and a sweet 12k top end.

In addition to the conversion, the unit will be recapped, with all pots, switches and card connector edges cleaned and any faulty components repaired. Our servicing is regarded as the best in the industry worldwide!

EQ controls are:

• Fixed 12 kHz high-shelf
• High pass filter at four frequencies: (50-80-160-300 Hz)
• Low EQ at four frequencies: (35-60-110-220 Hz)
• Hi-mid EQ at six frequencies: (360-700 Hz - 1.6-3.2-4.8-7.2 KHz)
• 30 dB of range for line gain
• 60 dB of range for mic gain
• Phase reverse
• EQ bypass
