The TLM 193 utilizes a switchless design and a fixed cardioid pattern to deliver an extremely efficient and affordable microphone. Simply plug it in, point it at the sound source, and press record. The TLM 193 offers an exceptionally uniform cardioid pattern for a very linear response both on- and off-axis, allowing you to capture performances with stunning clarity.
The TLM 193 is a streamlined version of Neumann’s hyper-linear TLM 170 R microphone, and uses the same edge-terminated K 89 large diaphragm capsule. This unique capsule allows the TLM 193 to achieve the same superior linearity and fast transient response of a small diaphragm microphone with the smoothness and high sensitivity of a large diaphragm microphone.
As a member of the TLM family, the TLM 193 utilizes Neumann’s classic transformerless circuitry to minimize interference and maximize dynamic range. Capable of capturing the subtle intricacies of an acoustic performance or the roar of a guitar cab, the TLM 193 features a self noise of just 10 dB-A, allowing for sound pressure levels of up to 140 dB without introducing distortion.
