Mojave Audio MA-50K Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The Mojave Audio MA-50K was created by David Royer to offer a transformerless microphone circuit without the inherent issues found in typical transformerless mic designs. Producing the realism and clarity that Mojave mics are known for at an entry level price, the MA-50 outperforms transformerless microphones costing several times more.

The MA-50 features the same hand-selected large diaphragm 1" 3-micron capsule found in the MA-201fet. It features a single sided diaphragm in a fixed cardioid polar pattern with very fast transient response, excellent low frequency accuracy, and high SPL handling. This single sided method yields a fantastic proximity effect for using distance to the source as a way of increasing the bass or making the source more natural sounding with distance. The single sided capsule also lowers self-noise, and the Mojave transformerless design offers even lower noise with a more neutral response, leaving room for sonic color of your preamp to shine through.

The natural, even response of the MA-50 combined with the bass response up close makes this an ideal mic for male vocals and voice-over. When used with a little more distance, it's ideal as a full bodied acoustic instrument mic, a detailed Foley/ADR mic, or in stereo pairs on larger sources. The fast transient response also makes it a great option for guitar amps, percussion, or drum overheads. The MA-50 includes a shock mount and hard-shell carrying case.
