Founded by Roman Perschon in 2009, LEWITT is now a multinational company headquartered in Vienna, Austria with more than 100 employees. Since its founding, the company has developed more than 20 condenser and dynamic microphones, ranging from the flagship LCT 1040 tube/FET condenser microphone system to an array of versatile studio mics and affordable live sound products. Recently, LEWITT has expanded with distribution partnerships in the Nordic region and Canada, establishing a U.S. branch in 2022 to better support its American customers. LEWITT connects with music makers via their myLEWITT platform, where fans can get free multitracks, join music challenges, win microphones and more.
LEWITT’s flagship product, the LCT 1040, combines a premium large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone and a power supply unit that doubles as a sophisticated remote control, giving users the freedom to dial in a far wider range of tones than other microphones. With the ability to seamlessly blend between FET and tube circuits, select from four different tube characteristics and switch polar patterns, the LCT 1040 system is the ultimate studio centerpiece.
LEWITT offers a wide range of condenser microphones with unique feature sets suited to different use cases and budgets. Their large-diaphragm offerings include the reference-class LCT 940 tube/FET condenser, the LCT 640 TS with dual output modes, the ultra-quiet LCT 540 S, the multi-pattern LCT 441 FLEX, the cardioid LCT 440 PURE and the super affordable LCT 240 PRO. LEWITT also offers two small-diaphragm condenser mics: the LCT 140 AIR with switchable pad, filter and tonal options, and the tiny LCT 040 Match. Both are available in stereo pairs.
LEWITT’s condenser mics are great in the studio, but the company also offers a full line of handheld mics for live performance. The star of the show is the LEWITT MTP 350 CM handheld condenser mic, which delivers crisp studio sound on stage. LEWITT also sells three dynamic handheld mics: the feedback-resistant MTP 550 DM, the MTP 840 DM with switchable internal amplifier, the budget-friendly MTP 250 DM and the unique LEWITT Interviewer, which features an omnidirectional pickup pattern and long handle that make it easy to pass between speakers without sacrificing sound quality.
Rounding out LEWITT’s range is a variety of special-purpose microphones. The MTP 440 DM is a fantastic choice for recording drums, guitar amps and vocals with superb detail. The compact DTP 340 TT, on the other hand, is ideal for loud sources like tom-toms, snare drums and guitar amps. The DTP 340 REX excels at capturing powerful, low-end-heavy sounds like kick drums and bass amps. LEWITT also offers two shotgun condenser mics for public speaking and video shoots: the S10 and the S6, which feature 10mm and 6mm capsules, respectively. Both mics are compatible with LEWITT’s GN35X, GN35X2 and GN15X goosenecks for easy positioning on podiums.
