Kali’s debut, the Kali Audio Lone Pine LP-8 studio monitors are designed to give you world-class power and accuracy, so you can mix with confidence. The exceptionally accurate frequency response allows you to hear everything present in the mix. Kali Audio boasts three-dimensional sound, a dual-layer voice coil, and a low noise port tube. Together, these features produce accurate reflection of source material that translates well over multiple systems.
The integrated Class D Power amp delivers clean, reliable power for large listening setups. While listening for long periods within a defined listening distance, momentary peaks come through clearly with minimal distortion. Kali Audio defines this as the maximum distance at which the speakers can play continuously at 85 dB while maintaining 20 dB dynamic headroom. Bass drops and explosive effects, for example, translate very well. By using larger magnets and voice coils, you get more accurate bass response. The entire frequency spectrum is uncolored and unhyped, meaning the LP-8 presents sound in the truest way possible.
The LP-8 uses 40W for the 1” soft dome tweeter and 60W for the 8-inch woofer.
The calibrated waveguide on the Lone Pine Series studio monitors ensures that the directivity of the loudspeaker is smooth throughout its frequency response. It also helps expose all the spatial details in a mix. When you’re able to connect with the subtle elements, wiser mixing decisions can be made. Furthermore, this aspect of the LP-8 makes mixing on the LP-8 feel natural and intuitive.
Kali Audio specifically designed the LP-8 to perform well against walls or where space is limited by adding a noiseless port on the front. The low noise port tube allows all air to leave at the same velocity, whereas others release air at different speeds. A poorly designed port can add undesirable sound to the noise floor and diminish an otherwise powerful low end. Kali Audio’s LP-8 doesn’t suffer from any audible turbulance. During playback, bass will remain tight and clean, devoid of extra noise to keep you from experiencing a mix in full.
Similar to the Kali Audio IN-8, the back panel of the LP-8 features an array of EQ recommendations to suit different speaker placements. This way, regardless of where or how the speakers are placed, you’ll get optimum sound from a stereo pair of LP-8 studio monitors.
The LP-8 features balanced XLR and TRS inputs, and an unbalanced RCA input. The RCA input can be set to -10 dBu sensitivity when you’re using consumer devices like a laptop or smartphone’s headphone jack.
