This unit was custom-built for a client in 2024 by Steve Firlotte of Inward Connections in Los Angeles, California. Based on the hugely successful stock Inward Connection Mix690, this unit was custom specified to have a total of 16 inputs with the first 6 inputs configured as mono and the following 10 inputs configured in stereo pairs. This allows for key mono sources such as Vocal, Bass, Snare and Kick drum to be processed in the analog domain conveniently by mono compressors and EQs, while keeping all levels and pans recallable within one's DAW. There is also a discrete Class A headphone amplifier with volume control added for direct monitoring and use as an additional headphone amp for tracking and mixing. The unit is entirely discrete, using 24V Inward Connections SPA-690 amplifiers and Cinemag transformers throughout, lending a huge, wide, warm "large console" sound to anything mixed through it. Highly overbuilt external power supply keeps the noise indistinguishable and the headroom exceptionally high. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to own one of the very finest summing mixers ever made!
The Inward Connections Mix 690 summing mixer gives you a mix depth on par with certain large consoles, in a compact package. Beyond that, the 16-channel Mix690 offers discrete op-amps on each and every input, a testament to Inward Connection's commitment to premium quality and, of course, premium tone.
The Mix 690 is armed to restore resolution and depth to even the most overworked digital mix. It constantly gets praise for delivering a surprisingly "big console sound," a combination of exceptional low-end retention with clarity in the highs, capped with a punchy, perceptually loud midrange that adds excitement to any mix.
Initially one of LA's best-kept secrets, the word about Inward Connections has been sweeping the globe. After all, when you hear guys like Chris Lord-Alge and Eddie Kramer swearing by a brand, you know to pay attention. Dreamed up and designed by Steve Firlotte, a well-known LA tech, the Inward Connections line offers premium options for the discerning ear, all meticulously handmade in Firlotte's Los Angeles workshop.
