More On Order
The Make Noise ReSynthesizer is an instrument comprising a single-system overview of the last 8 years of Make Noise module designs. Centered around the Spectraphon and Morphagene, it is paired with the core Make Noise CV generation suite (René, TEMPI, Wogglebug, and two Maths) and stereo processing modules (X-PAN, QPAS, DXG and Mimeophon). It comes housed in the powerful and portable 4 Zone CV Bus Case, the ReSynthesizer is an open design blackboard ready for experimentation and discovery. This system is equally equipped for granular synthesis, resynthesis, and subtractive synthesis alike!
The Make Noise/soundhack Spectraphon is a dual Spectral Oscillator coded by Tom Erbe of soundhack. It uses real-time spectral analysis and resynthesis to create new sounds from those that already exist. It is inspired by classic electronic musical instruments of the past, including spectral processors, additive synthesis, vocoders, and resonators especially the Buchla 296 and Touché, but it takes a physical form more resembling the classic analog dual complex oscillator in the lineage of the Buchla 259 and the Make Noise DPO.
A collaboration with Tom Erbe of Soundhack, the Make Noise Morphagene Eurorack Module works with Reels, Splices, and Genes to create new sounds by letting you capture and manipulate existing ones. It also lets you search BETWEEN notes to find and capture the microsounds you can’t hear with the naked ear. Since the world of sounds is so vast and subjective, Morphagene doesn’t come with preset sounds, but offers you a blank SD card so that you can load in your own samples.
RENÉ
The René music synthesizer module is a powerful three-dimensional prism of composition. It is the world's only 3D Cartesian Music Sequencer. Named for the French philosopher and mathematician René Descartes, it uses the Cartesian coordinate system to unlock the analog step sequencer from the shackles of linearity. The original René was a one-channel, two-dimensional Cartesian sequencer with limited memory, this new René is a three-channel, three-dimensional Cartesian sequencer with memory for up to 64 complete STATEs. Considering the multiple channels and FUN programming options across multiple axes, René has become an n-dimensional matrix or tesseract of synthesizer sequencing.
TEMPI
The TEMPI music synthesizer module is a 6 Channel, polyphonic time-shifting clock module. It provides an intuitive method for creation and recall of complex clocking arrangements within a modular synthesizer system. Using HUMAN and/ or MACHINE programming you could re-create most classic Clock Divider and Multiplier arrangements and then continue on to create new ones. Store up to 64 for later recall and Select them using control signals from within your system or the Select Bus.
WOGGLEBUG
The WoggleBug music synthesizer module is a random voltage generator, originally designed by Grant Richter of Wiard Synthesizers. It is a continuation of the “smooth” and “stepped” fluctuating random voltage sources pioneered by Don Buchla within the Model 265 “Source of Uncertainty,” expanding it to include the other-worldly Woggle CVs (stepped voltages with decaying sinusoids edges). The Wogglebug is a very musical random voltage generator where it is possible to synchronize all random signal to a Master Clock. Guaranteed to unleash your synthesizer's ID MONSTER!
MATHS
Maths is an all in one modular synth module, and a great improvement on their older model, now with far more flexibility to alter sound, and multiple independent outputs per channel so no channel summing is necessary. Maths now has four isolated channels, each can generate a variety of modular functions, or can be looped back into one another to expand on the modular sound. With so many ways to manipulate audio on Maths, you can easily come up with new ideas, and never run out of inspiration.
X-PAN
The X-PAN Voltage Controlled Stereo Mixer is a compact and powerful 5 channel Voltage Controlled Stereo Mixer with Low Noise and High Headroom allowing for creation of complex panoramic audio imagery in just 10hp. X-PAN is highly responsive to control signals allowing for exploration of the fluctuating stereo sidebands possible with Audio Rate Crossfading and Panning. X-PAN is Direct coupled for use as a CV Processing and Routing toolbox.
QPAS
The QPAS is a stereo multi-peak modular synth filter. Equipped with four identical state variable filter cores, QPAS uses advanced filter curves to create highly emotive synth sounds. QPAS combines the width of stereo spaced peaks with the movement of multiple filter peaks for truly hypnotizing effects. From simple Moog-inspired sounds to deep FM synthesis exploration, QPAS can do it all.
DXG
The Make Noise DXG (Dual Stereo Gate) music synthesizer module is a Dual Stereo Low Pass Gate and Mixer. It follows in the footsteps of the QMMG, Optomix, RxMx, DynaMix, and LxD. Unlike its predecessors, the DXG is specifically oriented around mixing stereo signals, making it an important addition to any system containing modules like XPO, QPAS, Morphagene, Mimeophon, and other stereo modules by Make Noise or others.
MIMEOPHON
The Mimeophon is a synthesis module from Make Noise that uses seven color-coded algorithms to create an array of time-based effects, from phasing and flanging to classic delay effects and a fully-functional looper. And with advanced tone-shaping controls and flexible routing, Mimeophon is the ultimate time modulation device.
