The Gefell UMT70S is a multi-pattern FET microphone that features the legendary M7 dual-membrane, gold evaporated capsule with a new, state-of-the-art low-noise capsule amplifier for exceptional transient response, wide bandwidth and a natural uncolored sound. The ultra-slim design benefits the UMT70S with less acoustic field disruption around the microphone and greater placement ease when lose mic-ing instruments. The UMT70S is ideal for recording, broadcast, voice-over and live sound reinforcement.
Three-pattern side-address condenser with dual large-diaphragm & gold evaporated membranes. Transformerless output stage for exceptional dynamics. Each pattern yields a slightly different frequency response curve: the omni adds extra air in the 10kHz region while the cardioid and figure-8 have a 7kHz presence lift for voice. Comes with deluxe wood case.

I absolutely love this microphone! I purchased it specifically for vocal applications and paired it with the Audio Phoenix DRS Q4m. The sound quality is fantastic—it delivers a rich, full-bodied tone, and the top frequencies are smooth and pleasing to the ear. Highly recommended!
Workhorse mic that sounds great on everything. Very low noise allows clean capture of the quietest acoustic guitar parts. Very nice on piano as well.
What a great mic!! Awesome on Vocals and just about anything else you throw at it!!
Great service!
Love this mic. A forever purchase for sure!
Super awesome mic. Love it so much!
This mike sounds wonderful, vintage sound, no disturbing high frequency
Love you guys 🙌🏻 Thank you
Excellent microphone for the money and worth every penny! The mic is extremely versatile and records exceptionally well whether it’s for instruments or vocals. I highly recommend it.
Ever since a documentary filmmaker I worked with brought one of these back from Germany ages ago, to record narration with in his company's small production studio, I have been convinced it is the absolute best microphone ever made, especially for Voice Over and Narration work. Not surprising that the only one that comes close is a vintage classic Neumann U47 - because it has the exact same capsule element, made exactly the same way, in the original factory where Georg Neumann developed and produced his unparalleled line of spectacular fidelity condenser microphones, still considered the essential go-to microphones in every top-flight recording facility and beloved by recording engineers, musicians and vocal artists across the planet. The UMT 70S in particular captures spoken word performance with incredible intimacy, detail, and such bold "presence" in the midrange band as to be the front & center spotlit starring focal point of even the densest music and efx soundscape mix, yet without sibilance or harsh metallic artifacts common to undeservedly popular "shotgun" condensers and super-bright orchestral/choral multipattern general usage music studio/concert hall mics requiring tons of EQ and compression to "sit right" in a crowded soundtrack mix. No wonder the original U47 was Sir George Martin's all-time favorite for recording Beatles vocals at Abbey Road Studios, and while not exactly the same electronics/amp circuitry, you can still hear that magical stunning presence with modern noise-free precisely clean fidelity in the compact and rugged UMT 70S. I've owned and insisted on using my own Gefell for voice over and narration work for the past 25 years or so, with several prominent production studios following my lead to stock their own mic lockers with this and other Microtech/Gefell models (the M930 is a favorite at some of the best studios now, like the famed Skywalker Sound, to name-drop an unimpeachable credit); but the UMT 70 remains my first and most reliable pick for any "center stage" BIG Voice Over/Narration sound gig. Now restricted to remotely performing exclusively from my own facility at home for the next couple of years (most likely), I noticed it was time to service and refresh the one I've depended on for the past quarter century, and certainly can't be without one at the ready 24-7, so now I have a brand spanking new one from the good folks at Vintage King. Now I won't go anywhere else for premium grade audio gear. Finally discovered for myself that VK is the most knowledgeable, finest service, reasonably priced, and just plain best Pro Audio dealers in the business. Thanks!
