Product Description

The Gefell M295, like the M294, is a precision cardioid condenser pencil microphone with an extended bandwidth for the utmost in natural sound reproduction.  Derived from Gefell’s test, measurement and instrumentation division, the M295 employs a pure 0.8 micron nickel diaphragm in a ceramic housing for temperature-stable performance.  The extremely low membrane distortion of the pure nickel diaphragm even when subjected to extreme sound pressure levels assures a colour-free reproduction of the source.

fantastic microphone with an excellent design that compensates for proximity effect. best acoustic guitar sound i've ever gotten.

Absolutely wonderful sound - tons of transients - flat response - no proximity effect to speak of. These are amazing on acoustic instruments like acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, piano and hand percussion. Additionally, I searched for years to find drum overheads for a beautiful vintage kit in a semi-dry room. These blew everything else I tried away. Originally I purchased a pair for the accuracy their nickel diaphragms provide. I was not disappointed in any way. Good luck finding other nickel diaphragm microphones.
