The Focusrite RedNet AM2 is a compact stereo headphone amp and line out device providing additional functionality to Focusrite’s flagship range of Dante-based audio-over-IP interfaces. RedNet AM2, housed in a compact metal case with microphone stand mount, includes independent level controls for line (XLR) and headphone (1/4” TRS) outputs, and features superb monitor-quality conversion. RedNet AM2 can be powered over Ethernet (PoE) or via an external power supply (included) plugged into the rear.
Designed to drive a wide range of headphones, the headphone amplifier will drive high impedance (up to 600 ohms) headphones at substantial levels, making the unit suitable for use on-stage as well as front-of-house or in a studio environment. The XLR line-level outputs have software-switchable 0dBFS reference levels of +18 or +24dBu.
RedNet AM2 includes a 2-channel Dante receiver based around Audinates Ultimo hardware and incorporates high-quality digital to analog conversion at standard sample rates from 44.1 to 96kHz for stereo network audio monitoring via the line level outputs – for use with loudspeakers for example – or headphones, both outputs offering better than 118dB dynamic range). The unit may be clocked either internally or via the Dante Network Master. Two large volume control knobs are provided for Headphone and Line output levels, the latter featuring a mute button with associated LED. Other indicators show the presence of power, network and signal. The signal indicator shows red for 0dBFS, orange at -6dBFS and green at -42dBFS on either channel, while the network indicator illuminates when a valid network connection is present on either Port 1 or 2.
The two locking etherCON connectors are connected to an integrated Gigabit network switch, allowing connection to the network and to and to daisy-chain to additional network devices such as a laptop running Dante Virtual Soundcard. RedNet AM2 is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) or via a rear-panel barrel connector and included 12V DC power supply. The power LED indicates green when powered via PoE and red when the external power supply is in use.
The compact unit, mounted in an enclosure based around a sturdy road-worthy aluminum extrusion, is fitted with non-slip feet, and can either sit securely on a flat surface or be mounted on top of a mic stand using the standard 3/8” BSW threaded bush incorporated in the base.
Like the entire RedNet product range, RedNet AM2 inter-operates seamlessly and fully with any other Dante audio-over-IP network components and infrastructure. Patching and interconnection can be managed with Dante Controller on Mac or PC.

Two of the most revered pieces of recording gear in the history of music production, the Focusrite ISA 110 Mic Pre and EQ, and ISA 130 Dynamics Modules helped to shape the sonic landscape of the 1980s and '90s. They were key components in the original Focusrite Studio Console, their unique specification, exceptional build quality and impressive versatility delivering a beautifully open sound that found favor among audio engineers the world over. With only ten Studio Consoles ever made, even fewer still in existence, and the original ISA modules commanding sky-high prices on the second-hand market, their very special brand of audio magic has been utterly inaccessible to all but the most privileged of producers… until now!
Designed and coded by the DSP geniuses at acclaimed software house Brainworx, the new bx_console Focusrite SC VST/AU/AAX plug-in for Mac and PC faithfully captures the sound, feel and styling of the original studio icon. Since the plug-in's launch in 2019, it's been included for free with every Clarett and Red audio interface. Now, ISA and RedNet customers get the plug-in, simply by registering their equipment online.
Accurately modeling the full signal paths of of the ISA 110 and ISA 130, bx_console Focusrite SC brings all the analogue character and coloration of the Focusrite Studio Console to your DAW-based productions. Offering four bands of parametric and shelving EQ, high- and low-pass filters, compression/limiting, gating/expansion and de-essing, it's as powerful a sound-shaping tool today as it ever was – indeed, it improves on the capabilities of the original with modifications including continuously variable THD and Gain controls. And with Brainworx's Tolerance Modeling Technology providing 72 selectable modeled circuits, you can even recreate the subtle timbral variations between channels that you'd get with the real console.
With bxconsole Focusrite SC retailing separately for $349, its inclusion for free with all Clarett, Red and RedNet interfaces and ISA hardware is a huge deal! To download the plug-in, simply register your Clarett, Red, RedNet or ISA unit online, log into your Customer Portal page, where you'll see bx_console Focusrite SC listed in the 'My Software' page among your registered products.
