Product Description
64x64 All-In-One Interface, 32x32 Dante I/O
The Focusrite Red 16Line is a 64-in/64-out Pro Tools | HD and dual Thunderbolt 3 audio interface with ultra-low latency A-D/D-A conversion, Red Evolution mic preamps, up to 121dB dynamic range, ultra-low round trip latency, and expansion over Ethernet for networked audio. Since Red 16Line provides both DigiLink connectors and Thunderbolt connections, it's now easier than ever to switch from Pro Tools | HD to a second DAW, without the need to reconfigure option cards in the interface. Simply change the host mode either in the remote control software, or on the device front panel and change DAWs in seconds.
The Easiest Way To Work In Pro Tools | HD And A Second DAW
Since Red 16Line provides both DigiLink connectors and Thunderbolt connections, it's now easier than ever to switch from Pro Tools | HD to a second DAW, without the need to reconfigure option cards in the interface. Simply change the host mode either in the remote control software, or on the device front panel and change DAWs in seconds.
Focusrite's Best Conversion
High-performance audio conversion with over 118 dB dynamic range A-D and 121 dB dynamic range D-A (A-weighted). These converters have been expertly selected and calibrated to provide the best balance of sound quality, dynamic range and conversion latency in Focusrite's best-quality audio interface.
Revolutionize Your Workflow
Red's ultra-low round trip latency completely transforms your workflow. If you're used to having to build two different mixes – one using input monitoring to overdub, the other using the DAW for playback – the good news is that now, one is enough. Build your mix on the DAW and use it whether you're overdubbing (monitoring the input you're recording with the Focusrite Control software mixer) or playing back, with all your plug-ins in place, all the time.
Extensive Analog I/O
Red 16Line features 16 line inputs on D-sub, coupled with 16 line outputs and two main monitor outputs.
Two Of Focusrite's Best Preamps
The two digitally-controlled Red Evolution mic preamps provide up to 63 dB of ultra-clean gain along with stereo linking, individual phantom power, high-pass filter, phase reverse and Air mode: the name Focusrite has given to the sonic signature of the classic transformer ISA preamp.
Networked Audio-Enabled Out Of The Box
With dual-port Dante connectivity, you will be able to expand your studio over Ethernet for more channels at higher sample rates, anywhere in your network, at lower latency and lower cost.
Software Mixer With Hardware-Focused Workflow
Focusrite Control is our software mixer designed primarily for ease of use in quickly setting up both simple and complex monitoring and routing configurations, together with the ability to control your preamps remotely.
Exclusive Offer For Red Owners
Focusrite have collaborated with Emmy Award-winning plug-in developer McDSP to deliver an unprecedented plug-in and interface bundle. All registered customers of a Focusrite Red 4Pre, Red 8Pre or Red 16Line Thunderbolt and Pro Tools | HD audio interface will receive a free 12-month subscription to McDSP's All Access HD plug-in pack, worth $499.99.
The Sound Of Red Across Your Mix
Every Red interface comes with our Red 2 and Red 3 EQ and compression plug-ins. AAX/AU/VST-compatible, these plug-ins faithfully reproduce the sonic qualities of the original hardware, allowing you to take advantage of the classic Red sound – the sound of professional recording studios all over the world – across your entire mix.
Brainworx bx_console
Two of the most revered pieces of recording gear in the history of music production, the Focusrite ISA 110 Equaliser and ISA 130 Dynamics Modules helped to shape the sonic landscape of the 1980s and 90s. They were key components in the original Focusrite Studio Console, their unique specification, exceptional build quality and impressive versatility delivering a beautifully open sound that found favor among audio engineers the world over. With less than ten Studio Consoles still in existence and the ISA Modules commanding sky-high prices on the second-hand market, their very special brand of audio magic has been utterly inaccessible to all but the most privileged of producers… until now!
Designed and coded by the DSP geniuses at acclaimed software house Brainworx, the new bx_console Focusrite VST/AU/AAX plug-in for Mac and PC faithfully captures the sound, feel and styling of Focusrite’s original iconic hardware – and it’s included for free with every Clarett and Red audio interface.
Accurately modeling the full signal paths of the ISA 110 and ISA 130, bx_console Focusrite brings all the analogue character and colouration of the Focusrite Studio Console to your DAW-based productions. Offering four bands of parametric and shelving EQ, high- and low-pass filters, compression/limiting, gating/expansion and de-essing, it’s as powerful a sound-shaping tool today as it ever was – indeed, it improves on the capabilities of the original with modifications including continuously variable THD and Gain controls. And with Brainworx’s Tolerance Modeling Technology providing 72 selectable modeled circuits, you can even recreate the subtle timbral variations between channels that you’d get with the real console.
With bx_console Focusrite retailing separately for $349, its inclusion for free with all Clarett and Red interfaces is a huge deal. To download the plug-in, simply register your Clarett or Red audio interface online, then log into your Customer Portal page, where you’ll see bx_console Focusrite listed in the My Software page among your registered products.
