Product Description

Our new model of condenser microphone is the FLEA Model A. It can be used with any application in the recording studio, but its ultimate strength manifests itself while miking female and male vocals. The microphone's solid construction consists of three crucial parts in its electronic system. First is a microphone capsule of the F7 type produced by our company (final assembly of the diaphragm is made exclusively by Mr. Siegfried Thiersch, well known for capsule skinning of the best quality). The F7 capsule is an exact clone of the M7 capsule. A replica of the output transformer used in historical microphones such as the U47 or M49 is produced by our company, as well. The output transformer is made of original materials to reach sonic authenticity to its legendary predecessors. There is no doubt that this output transformer is the best you can get today all around the world. Its benefit refers to linear frequency response within the band of 20Hz - 20kHz at 0.07dB. The last important part of the electronic system of the microphone is its tube, carefully selected for noise reduction. It should also be pointed out that all critical parts of the microphone are lead by air without using printed circuit boards.

The microphone chassis is designed with robust steel-dural construction. The whole surface is nickel-plated and provides long-term protection of the microphone's electrical system against mechanical damage or wear. We especially want to point out the grille construction that consists of three layers of grid and secures complete protection of the capsule against mechanical damaging. This grille's sound coloration is identical with the types of historical microphones such as M49 or U67.

An important and separate component of this microphone is a power supply with stainless dural construction. The power supply is built like a tank when it comes to its durability so that it can serve your grandchildren or great-grandchildren... One of the power supply's roles is the precise filtration of noise and buzz-producing elements from power supply voltages. All applied voltage values are fully adjustable and thus it is perfectly possible to set up the operating point of the tube used in the mic. Another part of the power supply unit is a polar pattern switch. The polar patterns are optional: cardioid, bi-directional and omni.

Our company manufactures all mechanical parts of the mic as well as those of the power supply and we do not use parts made in China or in any Asian country. The only elements that are not produced in our company are the connectors made in Switzerland and Germany. Each mic leaving our factory is tested in our site for 48 hours and after that its operational points are set up. This means that every customer will get a so-called “burnt-in“ piece that retains its parameters for long years. The whole set contains the microphone, cable linking the mic and power supply unit, power supply unit and power cord.
