The Redco R196-D25PG TT/DB25 patch bay delivers versatile analog and AES digital signal routing in a compact 1U design. Featuring programmable grounding/normalling switches, industry-standard 25-pin D-Sub Tascam pinouts, and a built-in cable support tray, this 96-point patch bay is built for efficiency and versatility.
With 96 balanced patch points in just 1U of rack space, the R196-D25PG is the perfect solution for streamlining your workflow. "Bantam" refers to the Tiny Telephone (TT) connector, which is widely used in professional studios for its durability and space-saving efficiency. This high-density configuration makes the Redco R196-D25PG TT patch bay ideal for complex routing in large-scale studios, broadcast facilities, and live rigs where organization and efficiency are key.
The Redco R196-D25PG TT patch bay uses the Tascam pinout scheme on all rear-panel 25-pin D-Sub connections for straightforward and reliable integration with outboard gear. Each D-Sub connector is precision-machined and secured with durable threading for a solid, vibration-resistant fit. Whether you’re wiring a permanent installation or a mobile rig, the Redco R196-D25PG 1U patch bay streamlines setup and keeps your signal path clean and consistent.
Located on the top of the chassis for quick access, the programmable grounding and normalling switches give you complete control over your signal flow. Normalling switches let you pre-configure default signal paths, while programmable grounding allows you to choose the optimal grounding scheme for your setup. Quality Construction and Convenient Cable Support Tray With a rugged steel chassis and premium connectors rated for thousands of insertion cycles, the Redco R196-D25PG TT patch bay is built to last. An integrated cable tray that supports the weight of your cabling to prevent stress on connectors, reduce wear, and extend the life of both the patch bay and your cables.
Anyone looking into TT patch bays knows there is some sticker shock but Redco gives a lot or performance for a reasonable price point. I have four Redco's and I appreciate the contrast between the silver face and black inputs grouped in pairs. Visually it makes it easier to see especially if your vision isn't perfect. Another highlight is the rear shelf to help support the DB25 connectors.
Works as expected with no issues!
Great unit. When it comes to gear and service nobody is better than Vintage King.
Fantastic bay!! Solid build and the normal and grounding selection switches make it incredibly easy to use.
Solid build quality. Best patchbay for the price and features. I like that it’s not a hardwired bay, can change the switches as needed. And they are easily accessible when needed, out of the way when not. And the patchbay is made by a great Company from Connecticut :-) I would recommend this to anyone looking at patchbays.
Redco does it right!!!
Nice priced BITCHIN TT Patchbay, A must Buy
This is our 5th Redco patchbay, we love them. Only reason this didn't get 5 stars is that when it arrived in the packaging, almost all of the little screws in the back had fallen out and were floating around inside the box. We have to manually put the whole back panel back together. Luckily, it's working fine. I imagine it probably vibrated loose on a shipping container.
Great piece. Works as expected, and feels very solid and high quality. The only downside is the tiny strip for placing the labels, but since this patch bay is such a great price compared to other TT/DB25 96pt bays, I’ll let that slide and still give it 5 stars!
Love it, transparent and easy to use, just as a patchbay should be
