The Bob Moog Tribute Edition Minimoog Model D celebrates the technology and imagination of early electronic musical instrument design. Preserving the Minimoog Model D’s iconic sound and soul, this limited-edition release features 100% analog circuitry, modern functional updates from the instrument’s 2022 re-release, a custom quartersawn oak wood enclosure, a unique back-panel decal, and an included SR Series travel case.
Each Bob Moog Tribute Edition Minimoog Model D synthesizer is assembled by hand in Moog’s North Carolina production facility. This edition represents the final planned production run of this storied instrument, and only 500 units will be made available to purchase. To honor Bob Moog’s legacy and continue to support the future of synth education and innovation, $500 from each instrument sold will be donated to the Bob Moog Foundation.

Featuring a discrete analog mixer, dual envelope generators, and analog VCA, every element of the Model D is engineered for deep, dynamic sound. Its all-analog signal path makes this synthesizer a standout in today’s studios and stage setups. The classic 24 dB/octave Moog ladder filter provides the unmistakable resonance and smooth cutoff sweep that defined the sound of the synthesizer. From round, warm bass tones to sharp peaks, the filter remains one of the most celebrated designs in analog synthesis. While faithful to the original 1970s design, the Bob Moog Tribute Edition Minimoog Model D includes thoughtful enhancements from the 2022 re-release of this storied synthesizer, such as dedicated LFO mode for Oscillator 3 and expanded modulation routing. These additions allow for deeper sound design while preserving the traditional front-panel workflow. Handbuilt by the Moog Music team in North Carolina, this instrument is made with high-quality components, a custom quartersawn white oak cabinet, a durable metal chassis, and a premium Fatar keybed with velocity and aftertouch support (via MIDI/CV).
