UPGRADING TO VOLCANO 3

Upgrading from Volcano 1 or 2 to Volcano 3 is safe and easy: installing Volcano 3 will not replace or delete the previous versions of the plug-in. All versions will co-exist and can be used at the same time. This ensures that you can open old songs that use Volcano 1 or 2 without problems.

NEW IN VOLCANO 3

The first thing you will notice when you open Volcano 3 is the brand-new look. The completely redesigned interface makes Volcano 3 more pleasant and efficient to work with.

VOLCANO 1/2 PRESETS

All presets created with Volcano 1 or 2 can be loaded in Volcano 3, although they may sound slightly different due to changes in the new plug-in version. If you upgraded from version 1 or 2 to the new version, your original presets will be accessible via the V1/V2 Preset Folders item in the preset menu. See also Loading presets.

REPLACING A VOLCANO 1 OR 2 INSTANCE BY VOLCANO 3

If you are working on a song and want to replace a Volcano version 1 or 2 instance with the new Volcano 3, do the following:

• First, save the current setting of the original Volcano instance as a FabFilter preset in the Volcano 1 or 2 preset folder
• Then, remove the original Volcano instance and add Volcano 3 in its place
• Finally, load the V1/V2 preset that you just created into Volcano 3 via the Preset Folder submenu in the preset menu

AUTOMATION

Because the feature set of Volcano 3 has changed fundamentally, any automation data that has been written by a Volcano 1 or 2 instance cannot be read correctly by Volcano 3.
