The Ex Machina Gravity is the low-frequency extension designed specifically for Terra. A passive 26cm subwoofer pair powered directly from Terra’s rear panel amplification, Gravity integrates as a single, unified system—no external amplifiers, no bass management processors, no phase-alignment guesswork. Using a zero-phase LR4 crossover at 80 Hz, Gravity extends Terra’s response to 30 Hz linear (F6 at 20 Hz) while increasing system headroom to 112 dB @1 kHz. The compact, side-firing design enables nearfield placement alongside Terra, preserving stereo bass accuracy and minimizing room-mode excitation. Terra is complete on its own; Gravity is for when deeper extension or higher SPL is required.
Adding subs usually means phase alignment headaches, mismatched amplification, and unreliable bass management. Gravity eliminates those problems by design. Powered directly from Terra and integrated through coordinated DSP, Gravity behaves as an extension of the main system—not an add-on fighting for control. As such, Gravity is perfect for the following applications:
Gravity contains no internal amplification or DSP. All power, crossover integration, time alignment, and calibration are handled by Terra’s rear panel electronics and DSP. This integrated approach eliminates level-matching, phase-alignment, and bass-management challenges common to traditional subwoofer setups. When connected, Terra automatically applies the appropriate crossover and system calibration, ensuring Gravity operates as a seamless extension of the main monitors. Over-the-air firmware and calibration updates applied to Terra extend to the complete Terra + Gravity system.
