The Ex Machina Arcturus 3-Way Active Studio Monitor is the flagship of Ex Machina Soundworks. It is not just their largest and loudest monitor, but also their most technologically advanced offering to date!

Designed primarily for soffit-installed mains applications, the Arcturus leverages the same coaxial and axisymmetric technology from the well-regarded Quasar model. What sets the Arcturus apart is its unique integration of twin ring radial neodymium SEAS subwoofers – a design that delivers some of the lowest distortion and most linear output ever measured in Ex Machina's products.

These ultra-low distortion, exceptionally linear subwoofers feature a unique split-gap twin ring radial neodymium motor. The result? Exceptional symmetry and motor strength, even at extreme excursions. Put simply, these are the best 26cm subwoofers Ex Machina have ever engineered or measured.

The Arcturus also integrates the same electronics as the Quasar model with an added 2RU remote AMP/DSP pack which will require top and bottom venting. The sealed Valchromat cabinets are stiff, dense, and well-damped, with none of the chuffing or group delay of ported designs. The ultra-rigid 38mm laminated front baffle handles the impressive output of the twin 26cm subwoofers, while the radiused insets for the subwoofers eliminate potential lip shadow from the tall boy surrounds.

Bleeding edge Composite Sound Metamodal TeXtreme diaphragms: ultralight, ultra-stiff carbon fabrics with optimized fiber geometries to actively control and suppress resonances. Mathematically optimal midrange waveguide shape, underhung surround, and optimized point source acoustic center alignment provides superb off-axis response. State of the art, super low distortion neodymium motor design.

ELECTRONICS

Flagship AKM Velvet Sound AK4493/AK5572 based conversion leaves no sonic footprint. Hypex Ncore amplifiers provide gobs of squeaky clean, efficient power. 5th gen SHARC+ DSP hardware can crunch many, many numbers at once. Included 2RU remote AMP/DSP pack – top and bottom venting is required.
