Eventide technically got their start in 1970 with a tape search unit designed to return multitrack tapes to a specific location, but it wasn’t until they released their iconic H910 Harmonizer in 1975 that they would become a commercial success. Although it was originally designed for studio use, the H910 was first popularized by broadcasters, who used it to speed up programming without pitch-shifting the actor’s voices so they could run more ads per hour. Eventide also produced the first commercially available phasers and flangers in the early 80s. Since then, Eventide have released countless classic multi-effects processors, such as the DSP series, the Eclipse, and the H9000.
