The TG12413 Limiter was a continuation of a long line of compressor/limiters designed and manufactured by the in-house engineering staff at EMI, most famously used to record the Beatles and early Pink Floyd material. Appearing in the mid-70s as the culmination of all this development, the sound of the 12413 is unique. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and the highest compliment was paid to these limiters by making an official plugin version of them. But if you're looking for some real hardware for your rack, full of EMI mojo, then skip the plugins and get the real deal.
