The LS3 provides passive switching of three stereo outputs from a single stereo source. Or as a source selector any of three stereo sources to a single stereo output. As a speaker selector, you can select multiple outputs simultaneously. An excellent tool for isolating your subwoofer or using it with multiple pairs of speakers. I'm a mastering engineer primarily, but also do some mixing. So, I needed a switcher to feed either my mastering DA's or summing mixer through my 2-bus chain with minimal coloration and noise. Having A/B'ed jobs from before I got this with current recalls, I hear no difference. The noise floor of my whole setup is still incredibly low. I think this humble little box really did the trick, and my workflow is much faster for it. The form factor, combined with the connections makes sitting the box in a spot a little clunky, which is the only reason for a 4 star review. If only sonics were concerned, I would be giving it 5!
