It boasts the exact same European style circuit, tubes, transformers, and high-end components as its PS6 sibling but with a more elegant and user-friendly design. Simply put - the CA-286S is the easiest way to get those Hi-Fidelity EF86 tube tones into your studio.
Came back to buy another one of these units and noticed there was no review. That's a shame, because this is an incredible piece of gear. All Coil Audio products are underrated, but this one seems to be the forgotten step-child compared to the 70s, and I'm not sure why because this works wonders on most mic types. I've found it to be particularly helpful on most dynamic mics, and is a perfect match for my SM7b. This is definitely one of the best preamps I own (and I own more than I should).
