Chandler Mini Module Frame - Loaded w/ 12411s (Used)

The Chandler Limited Mini Module Frame is designed as a counter part to the Mini Rack Mixer but will function completely independently for those wishing for a modular, grow-as-you-can setup. Chandler Limited Modular Channel is a re-creation of several classic circuits and combines a TG2 pre amp section with an equalizer that was redesigned from the mastering counterpart to the original "Beatles desks".

The active portions of the unit use the same discrete amplifiers and transformers as in the TG1 Limiter and TG2 pre amp. The passive equalizer portion of the EQ is an all inductor design and offers sweet high frequencies with large inductor based lows, and a very high "Q" mid cut section. Due to its passive inductor design the unit will inevitably draw comparisons to the Pultec EQP-1a3. A simple description would be a TG Pultec with a TG pre amp thrown in...

Low EQ - A low boost control with 20db of gain and a select switch that combines shelf and peak settings. Both peak and shelf characteristics are inductor based, and on the peak settings "Q" gets sharper with more boost. 50, 70, 100, 200 peak. 100, 200 shelf. 100hz low cut.

Mid EQ - A mid frequency EQ with 20db of cut with six points set at very sharp "Q". Specially designed to fix problem areas. All inductor based. 350, 400, 500, 600, 700, 850 hz.

High EQ - A highboost control with 18db of gain and a select switch that combines shelf and peak settings. Shelf characteristic is resistor capacitor based and the peak types are inductor style. 16k, 12k, 8.1k, 6.8k shelf. 5.8 k, 3.9k, 2.2k, 1.8k, 1.2k peak. HI-Q switch for peaks.

Input - Combines 2.4k ohm mic input and and a 10k line input which is selectable with the line switch. The fifteen position switch attenuates mic and line and gives a large range of control for normal and not so normal uses. mic gain -15db to +65db line gain -25db to +45db.

Output - Functioning as a console fader, this control is placed after the input stage and before the out put stage. This allows for trimming of ther input signal, as well as allowing the user to run the input very hot (for extra coloration) without distorting the recorder.

The TG Channel MKII now includes the following brand spankin' new features;

  The Chandler Limited TG12413 Modular TG Limiter employs the same circuitry design and specifications as the Chandler Limiter TG1 Limiter in a modular design
  The Chandler Limited TG1 is a recreation of the classic EMI TG12413 Limiter used in custom EMI and Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles from the late 60's. The TG Limiter was originally designed to be like the Fairchild 660/670 which was loved by many EMI engineers, including Geoff Emerick, but ended up with a very special sound all its own. These rare pieces were never commercially available and only EMI-owned studios had access to them. Our version has been remade from the original design information and circuit board drawings as provided by Abbey Road and EMI to ensure extreme authenticity!
  
  TG equipment was used on many classic records and this Limiter was featured on every channel of TG consoles used to record The Beatles "Abbey Road", several Pink Floyd records including "Dark Side of the Moon", Paul McCartney, and the Rolling Stones.
  
  The Limiter/Compressor features an all discrete circuit with transformer balanced input and output. The limiting element is a rarely seen diode network that produces smooth, pleasing distortion. The warm open sound, often compared to a Fairchild 670 set to stun, is very audible and squishy sounding while maintaining its clarity and high frequency response.
