Caroline Guitar Company Olympia Fuzz Pedal - VK Edition

Olympia is inspired by Philippe’s favorite classic transistor Bender and Muff-based fuzzes. His truly practical mind realized that most players who gig live are lucky to get a 50 W combo above two or three on the volume dial before some old hack tells them to “turn it down.” With this sad fact in mind, Philippe tweaked every component he could until he devised a killer tone stack circuit that preserves the midrange lost when an amp is less-than-cranked. The resulting circuit is crushing yet smooth; with incredible levels of sustain that just inspires you to play epic David Gillmor Pink Floyd-type solos. Set the gain control at four o’clock and it's instant Dinosaur Jr. Tube Screamer into a Big Muff sludge; while twelve noon gives you a crack at the ever-elusive Jimmy Page live tone.

The extra special Olympia Fuzz VK Edition comes in a limited hammertone blue finish – a classy hybrid between the standard matte blue and the classic hammered finishes seen on the fuzzes of days past. The beauty continues on the inside with a slightly tweaked formula for a touch less gain and just a bit more bass than the normal Olympia formula, with intentionally mismatched Germanium and silicon diodes in the first gain stage. Make no mistake, it's still a fire-breather with plenty of heat and punch. When these are gone, they won't be coming back for a while, so jump on this one while you can!

We like Olympia because it's an incredibly flexible fuzz. Everything from pouty-lipped Classic Rock-gasm to snotty Punk Rock attitude are contained within.
