Universal Audio has just announced that it will be making the API console experience more widely available to a new generation of music makers via the LUNA API Vision Console Emulation Bundle ($699).

In case you've missed out, Universal Audio's LUNA Recording System is a new platform for recording, mixing and mastering that integrates seamlessly with Apollo interfaces. Universal Audio has been dropping new extension bundles featuring emulations and virtual instruments and today's API announcement is one of the most exciting yet.

So what exactly is the LUNA API Vision Console Emulation Bundle and how does it bring the console experience to your desktop? We're glad you asked. Users will be able to take full advantage of API preamp and channel modules and mix with analog summing and bus compression right within LUNA. These aren't separate plug-ins that you'll have to cycle through on your screen. These emulations are directly integrated into LUNA's mixer. The API Vision Console Emulation Bundle includes six different modules. Users will get immediate access to the 212L preamp, 225L compressor, 235L gate/expander, 550L/560L EQs and 215L Hi and Lo pass filters. When it comes time to glue together your mix, you'll be able to do so with the inline API 2500 Bus Compressor. All of this is contained in LUNA and laid out in a beautiful console-like platform.
As far as an analog-style workflow in the digital realm goes, Universal Audio's ability to recreate the console experience is uncanny. Apollo owners will now be able to record in real-time using API preamp circuits in Unison mode and shape their tracks with ease using API EQs, compressors and more.
