It's that time again—Superbooth25 is here, and the synth world is buzzing. For the uninitiated, Superbooth is a Berlin-based trade show that celebrates cutting-edge music technology, with a special focus on synthesizers, effects pedals, and other music-making tools.
Launched in 2001 as a scrappy offshoot of Frankfurt’s Musikmesse and relocated to FEZ-Berlin in 2017, Superbooth has grown into a global event that brings together top manufacturers, boutique brands, and DIY builders.
This year's lineup doesn't disappoint, with popular brands like Moog, Polyend, Novation, and a slew of other heavy hitters dropping fresh gear. We’re breaking down some of the hottest new releases from Superbooth25 below.
Arguably the biggest news out of Superbooth, Moog’s all-new Messenger synthesizer marks a bold new chapter for the legendary brand. Messenger blends the brand’s beloved analog circuits with fresh, modern features, including two oscillators with wavefolding, a shape-shifting sub-oscillator, and dual looping ADSR envelopes.
Best of all, each oscillator feeds into a reimagined version of Moog's legendary ladder filter that now offers high-pass/band-pass modes and an all-new RES BASS switch to preserve low-end at high resonance. With 32 full-size semi-weighted keys, aftertouch, and an intuitive layout, Messenger makes it easy to capture that unmistakable Moog tone on stage or in the studio.
Up next on our list is the Polyend MESS, a pedal that turns your favorite effects into a full-blown instrument. Short for “Multi-Effect Step Sequencer,” Polyend’s new MESS pedal blends traditional sound shaping with four independent effect tracks and over 120 high-quality effects, including reverb, delay, looping, granular sampling, and more.
Unlike static multi-effects units, MESS lets you build dynamic textures that shift over time. Or, bypass the sequencer entirely and use MESS as a powerful standalone effects pedal. Perfect for guitarists, synth heads, and sound designers, MESS makes it easy to experiment with new effects and craft complex soundscapes.
Known for designing smart, streamlined tools that empower musicians to create without limits, Novation continues to push boundaries in the world of electronic music. The latest evolution of Novation’s flagship control surface dropped at Superbooth25, and it delivers exactly what users have been asking for.
The Launch Control XL 3 adds 5-pin MIDI I/O for hardware integration, expanded DAW support beyond just Ableton, and refined tactile controls for butter-smooth workflow. With eight 60mm faders, 24 endless encoders, and that crisp OLED display, it’s a flexible command center built for hands-on control of both software and hardware setups.
Speaking of Novation, the brand’s popular Launchkey MK4 controllers just got a sleek white makeover at Superbooth25. The Mini 37 packs three octaves of synth-action keys and 16 ultra-responsive FSR pads into a portable frame, while the MK4 49 steps up with semi-weighted waterfall keys and dedicated mixer controls for studio command.
Both models now feature enhanced scale/chord modes and that brilliant OLED display, making them ideal for sketching ideas in your DAW or controlling hardware rigs. And with deep Ableton Live integration plus included Lite software, they’re ready to roll straight out of the box.
Released just 10 days before Superbooth25, the Make Noise Jumbler is a six-in, six-out analog signal combiner that’s perfect for creating complex soundscapes. Although it’s tailor-made for the New Universal Synthesizer System, Jumbler works with any Eurorack rig.
Need hybrid CV mashing? Complex waveform blends? On-the-fly effects rerouting? The Jumbler handles it all with ease via 36 analog VCAs crammed into a single module. Unique Rotate and Radiate controls make it easy to explore and experiment with new sounds.
Another pre-Superbooth25 release, the Intellijel Multigrain is a stereo morphing granular sampler that gives you immediate access to eight sounds at once, each running through a powerful granular engine with morphable scenes.
With 13 dedicated granular parameters—including ten per-knob controls and three behavior toggles—Multigrain invites deep exploration, from glitchy bursts to lush, evolving textures. It’s ideal for layering samples, creating drones, or flipping familiar sounds into something completely unrecognizable, and the built-in Blur reverb ties it all together in stereo.
